Biography
Armiferum is a brazilian progressive power metal band, formed in São Paulo, in 2020, by musicians Ian Gonçalves (vocals), Guto Cardozo (guitars), Rafael Bochnia (bass) and Raphael Miotto (drums). Despite their recent union, the band already has two albums almost finished and has been preparing for the release of their debut, in the final stage of production, which will soon be anti cipated by the release of the single and music video for “Against the wind”, song that will be released separately, not appearing on either of the two upcoming albums.
The name, Armiferum, comes from latin, and means “he who carries the weapons”. The strong pronunciation and poetic meaning are inline with the band’s goals, which always seek to create everything with all available weapons. The band’s sound is characterized by the speed, chorus e sandstriking melodies of power metal, adorned by the aggressiveness and complexity of progmetal. The diversity and technical quality of the musicians bring a modern perspective to your music by combining 3 important and complex genres in a very natural way, and that comes from the different influences and musical preferences of each of the musicians.
Ian Gonçalves is trained in classical piano, Rafael Bochnia and Raphael Miotto, in turn, seek their main influences in extreme metal, while Guto Cardozo maintains a considerably relevant youtube channel, with more than 150,000 subscribers, dedicated to anime music.
